A Sicilian wedding identity by the sea

Lucrezia and Alessandro married in Sicily, Italy, in August 2026. Hand-drawn sea creatures and Sicilian dialect, across more than thirty printed pieces.

The brief came with fixed print sizes and not much art direction, so I worked up a few concepts and the couple picked this one. Sardines are the fish of that coast, so the two of them became two sardines. Saidde is the dialect word for them, and it gave the whole suite its name.

One palette runs through everything. Teal ground, periwinkle and deep blue, white hand lettering. The same system goes on a 50 by 70 entrance board and on an A5 postcard, so everything had to scale.

The menus are localised in Italian, English and French for the guests coming from abroad, and there is a green one for the vegetarians.
